"Life"

There is nothing in this world more unfair than life. Opportunity does not continue to knock. The older one get's the "fainter" the knock, until one day (much too soon) it ceases to knock at all! This cessation occurs at a time when you are wiser, smarter, and more cunning than you have ever been. But to no avail. The opportunity has passed.

There are things you *should* have done.

An education you *should* have gotten.

A job you *should* have pursued.

A temper you *should* not have lost.

A person you *should* have loved.

But you didn't, and if you're not careful, all the longing and remorse might at best ruin the rest of your life and at worst it just might kill you.

There are no insurance policies for mistaken paths taken, and a mistake has no friends.

Take comfort in a stable, grounded relationship. Perhaps not the one you imagined in your youth, but then, look in the mirror now. Your values as well as your options will only continue to decline with age.

Find someone that will be true to you and is willing to share your pain as well as your joy. You're going to need them. This is success. Stay well
